1996 Chevy Lumina
As a substitute of the solid rear beam axles on some front-drive sedans, the
Luminas were given a completely self-regulating suspension that checks hits underneath
the left wheel from bouncing the one on the right. Flexible springs and shock
absorbers also adds to the base Lumina's flawless ride. The elective FE3 suspension
is offered only on the LS trim, this appendage contains firmer springs and shocks
that hugely decrease the bumps and thumps. Along with the firmer suspension, tight-grip
tires that give precision to the Lumina's reaction to urgent situation maneuvers
and performs quite well even in wet pavements.
The LS is provided with an optional twin-camshaft V6 for an additional cost.
While the base engine already manages a smooth performance, the larger engine
size and two more valves per cylinder help the bigger V6 take in air deeper and
rev higher for additional power. The effect is an immediate, comforting push at
the highway speeds where the basic V6 usually struggles. In comparison to some
multi-valve engines, the Lumina's is relatively smooth and quiet.
